The agreeing parties have decided to set aside financial means for Nordic Folkecenter for Renewable Energy to support the center’s work in conveying knowledge on renewable energy both nationally and internationally, and to support the development tasks in collaboration with small and medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The Greenlandic government has adopted a national policy objective of converting the country's energy supply to renewable energy as far as possible. Expansion and investment in Renewable Energy must take place in both the smaller and larger cities.
Together with 4 other partners, Nordisk Folkecenter has applied for, and been granted, a project with the title: "Operating technician in renewable energy under Arctic conditions, Ingerlatsinermut issittumi piujuaannartumik nukissiuteqarnermut teknikeri".

It is with great sadness that we announce that Preben Maegaard, 85
years old, is dead. Preben died quietly in his sleep after a long
illness.
Preben Maegaard lived at the Nordic Folkecenter for Renewable
Energy, a central place in the heart of his extensive life's work,
where he gathered enthusiasts who, like him, agreed that it was not
enough just to be against nuclear power - one had to create an
alternative.

Nordic Folkecenter is about to host a new workshop which will focus on sustainability applied to buildings. The title of the workshop is “Build your own Tiny House with Sustainable Materials” and it will take place between August 24 and August 28 (from 08:00 to 21:00).

Nordic Folkecenter's testfield for small wind turbines has now two new prototypes, which have been installed on July 5 and July 11. The two wind turbines have a swept area of 80 m2 and 200 m2 respectively and they will be in the test field for a period of 6 months.

Nordic Folkecenter for Renewable Energy attended the Congrés
Transició Energètica i Ciutat (Congress on Energy Transitions and
Cities), which took place in Barcelona, Spain, between the 6th and
7th of March.
The participation in the event was part of the information
activities Folkecenter carries out to promote the diffusion of
knowledge about renewable energies: for this purpose, we believe
that it is very important to get to know different realities and to
get updated on what it is happening in the field of renewables.

For three days, 10th, 11th and 12th of April 2019, 37 representatives from 10 countries gathered at Nordic Folkecenter for Renewable Energy in Sdr. Ydby, for gaining knowledge, establishing requirements and networking on small wind turbines, in Denmark called Households Wind turbines.
